Halfway through the year, the Airbus and Boeing production ramp-up is continuing mostly on pace, but with signs of some sluggishness in Toulouse, France.
While Boeing today announced delivering 381 aircraft in the first six months of 2015, including 64 787s, Airbus today reported 304 first-half deliveries.
Airbus’ delivery totals included only four A350-900s, which is well below a plan to deliver about 15 of the type before 1 January. The A380 programme, meanwhile, reported 13 first-half deliveries, or slightly behind the company’s goal to deliver 30 for the full-year.
Airbus also delivered 238 A320 family aircraft during the first half, even as certificating testing continues on the A320neo. First-half deliveries also included 49 A330s.
By contrast, the 787 programme is running slightly ahead of Boeing’s 10-a-month delivery plan, despite continuing delays with processing some aircraft featuring premium cabins with Zodiac seats.
Boeing also delivered 249 737s, nine 747s, nine 767s, and 50 777s in the first half.
