Bombardier has secured an order from an undisclosed customer for up to nine Learjet 75 superlight business jets.

The contract for six firm orders and three options is valued at around $83 million – or $124 million if all the options are exercised, the Canadian airframer says.

The Learjet 75 entered service in 2013 as a revamped version of the then nine-year-old Learjet 45XR – itself an upgrade to the Learjet 40, which was introduced 12 years earlier as the first superlight business jet.

The $13.8 million Learjet 75 features Honeywell TFE731-40BR engines, a Garmin G5000-based Vision flightdeck and a new interior. Nearly 40 of the types are in service to date, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Fleets database.
