Commercial aircraft net orders came in at 257 for October. A total of 129 swaps also occurred during the month.

In the highlight of the month, Qantas placed an order for 78 Airbus A320s and 32 A320neos while ICBC Financial Leasing ordered 45 Comac C919s. JetBlue ordered 40 A320neos and also swapped 30 A320s for the A321 variant. TAM Linhas Aereas also ordered 22 A320s, six A321s and four A320neos. The swaps during that period included CASGC who upsized five A320s to the A321 and transferred 80 orders to China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines. Avianca swapped six A319s for the A320 variant while DAE Capital swapped five 747s for the 777 type.

Airbus totalled 193 new orders in October while Comac received 45 and Boeing two. In the regional market only Embraer received 17 orders during the month.

In the narrowbody market, 105 A320s, 76 A320neos, six A321s and 45 C919s were placed. The widebody orders in the month were for four A330s, two A380s and two 777s. In the regional sector, the orders were for 11 195s and six 190s.

Overall, the order backlog for airliners ended October at 9,158, up 166 on the previous month.
