Air Berlin passenger numbers down 8.5% in December

Air Berlin slashed capacity by 12.1% in December, against the same month a year earlier, as passenger numbers dropped by 8.5% .

Load factor increased by 3.1 percentage points to 77.8% as a result.

For the full year, the Oneworld carrier's load factor inched up by 1.6 percentage points to 79.8%.

Passenger numbers for 2012 decreased by 5.5% to 33.4 million, on capacity cut by 7.4%.
