Honeywell Aerospace has authorised Air China Technics as a warranty repair station for its 131-9A/B auxiliary power units (APUs).
Under the agreement, Honeywell will provide Air China Technics with engineering expertise and support resources that will enable the Chinese carrier's MRO subsidiary to repair and maintain the APUs, which are used on its Airbus A320 and Boeing 737NG fleets.
Honeywell confirmed to Flightglobal that the warranty repair station will be based at Air China's base in Chengdu Shuangliu International airport.
"(The agreement) will allow Air China Technics to improve its repair skills, better manage maintenance costs and expedite maintenance turnaround time," says Honeywell in a press statement.
Prior to this agreement, Air China Technics used to send the 131-9A/B APUs to Honeywell's authorised service centres outside of China for warranty repair.
