Austrian Airlines has rejigged some of its routes and frequencies, citing an intent to "offset the strongly seasonal business of the airline".

Most of the changes will occur in the Lufthansa Group carrier's long-haul tourist network, notably the introduction of five flights per week from Vienna to Miami, starting 16 October.

Later that month, Austrian will use a 767 for a weekly Mauritius service, which will be upgraded to twice weekly between 19 December and 27 February 2016.

From late October, there will also be a weekly flight to Sri Lankan capital Colombo.

Within Europe, Austrian will launch a weekly connection to Mahon on the Spanish island of Menorca from 20 June.
