Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus has brought a full-scale mock-up of its new PC-24 “Super Versatile Jet” to the Avalon show, for which the manufacturer already holds orders from Australian customers.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service, Western Operations (RFDS WO) is a launch customer for the PC-24, with an order for four of theWilliams International FJ44-4A-powered aircraft, which is scheduled to make its first flight in May.
Pilatus is also believed to have secured orders from a private customer in the country.
The RFDS (WO) will take delivery of its first PC-24 following the types' certification in 2017. The manufacturer is currently working with the RFDS on the cabin configuration of their aircraft.
The RFDS was a launch customer for Pilatus PC-12 in the 1990s and the single-engined turboprop remains an integral part of its fleet.
