Boeing has added previously-announced commitments by American Airlines for 42 787s, 1 777 and 100 737 Max to the order backlog.

The addition comes after American parent AMR last month asked the US bankruptcy court to approve the deals under renegotiated terms. American also re-finalized an 18-month-old order to buy 130 Airbus A320neos under terms re-negotiated as part of the carrier's financial restructuring.

Airbus removed the order from its backlog in December 2011 after AMR filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
