Colombia's fleet of Airbus Military C295 tactical transports will be increased to five aircraft early next year, under a follow-on deal signed with the European manufacturer.
Now in final assembly at Airbus Military's San Pablo site in Seville, Spain, one additional transport will be delivered to the Colombian air force in February 2013, the company announced on 17 September. The asset will be used to perform "military transport and humanitarian aid missions", it adds in a statement.
The Colombian air force took delivery of its current four Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127G-engined C295s in 2008 and 2009, as recorded by Flightglobal's MiliCAS database.
