Two undisclosed customers have cancelled orders for a total of eight Bombardier CRJ900s, the manufacturer says.

Bombardier declines to identify the customers, but a review of the order backlog in the Flightglobal Ascend database suggests they are Tartarstan and the Republic of Iraq.

Those two customers account for unfilled orders of four aircraft in the CRJ900 backlog, the database shows.

Of the two remaining customers, Delta Air Lines confirms it has not cancelled any of the 40 CRJ900s it has on order. Adria Airways also has an unfilled order, but for only one aircraft.

The cancellations reduce the CRJ900's overall backlog to 41 aircraft, including all of Delta's order that was placed last year.

Bombardier also has a backlog of orders for 14 CRJ700s and 36 CRJ1000s.
