Delta Air Lines will launch seasonal service between Salt Lake City International and Amsterdam Schiphol airports in May 2015.
The Atlanta-based SkyTeam alliance carrier will operate the routes five-times weekly for two weeks before increasing frequency to daily on a Boeing 767-300ER from 1 May 2015 through that October, it says.
The new route is Delta’s second across the Atlantic after Paris Charles de Gaulle from its Salt Lake City hub, and continues a trend towards more hub-to-hub flying in the market as it connects to joint venture partner KLM's Amsterdam hub.
The airline says the new service is part of a planned expansion following the renewal of its lease at the Utah airport, which began earlier in July.
