Marshall Aviation Services, the business aviation arm of Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, is at the show to promote its recently refurbished fixed-base operation at Birmingham International airport, along with its burgeoning operation in the university city of Cambridge.
Marshall signed a long term lease for the 2011-built FBO at the start of this year, having first visited and reviewed the business immediately after EBACE 2014.
The facility offers comprehensive amenities for both flight crew and passengers, including crew rest facilities, flight planning rooms, and visitor or residential crew offices, its says.
The glass fronted 4,000m² (44,000ft2) FBO also includes 2,500m² of hangarage which will be available both to resident and visiting aircraft.
Marshall plans to expand its maintenance offering at the site and relocate its Flairjet charter operation from Oxford to take advantage of the city’s thriving business community.
“We intend to capitalise on Birmingham airport’s central location, especially convenient for the city and surrounding region which is home to over 75,000 companies including major global players and a vibrant conference location,” says Marshall Aviation Services vice president, business development James Dillon-Godfray.
Simultaneously, Marshall is investing over £17 million ($26.7 million) to develop the infrastructure at Cambridge. Projects include improvements for taxiways, drainage systems and airfield lighting.
This facility is home to Marshall’s thriving maintenance repair and overhaul, aircraft sales, charter, management, and handling businesses – the latter is performed by services provider ExecuJet, which was recently acquired by Luxaviation.
