Polish regional carrier Eurolot has nearly completed a project to phase out its ATR 72s as it moves to a single-type fleet based on the rival turboprop, Bombardier’s Q400.
Remarketing specialist Aelis Group is selling the last three ATR 72-200s in the airline's fleet, Eurolot vice-president Bartlomiej Matusewicz confirms.
Matusewicz is hopeful transactions can be completed by the end of May. He says a letter of intent is already in place with an airline for one of the turboprops, and that potential buyers have been identified for the other two.
Eurolot has so far taken delivery of 11 of 14 Q400s it ordered from Bombardier. It has yet to negotiate with the Canadian manufacturer on when the remaining three will be handed over, and will assess the market and consult with its partner LOT, the Polish flag carrier, before making any decision, Matusewicz indicates.
