UK business aircraft services provider ConnectJets was celebrating the launch of its first aircraft dealership at the show, following its appointment by Piaggio Aero as exclusive sales agent for the Avanti EVO in the British Isles and Channel Islands.

“There is so much potential for this aircraft in Europe,” says ConnectJets founder and chief executive Gabriella Sommerville, who is wasting no time in maximising the twin-engined turboroprop's exposure.

The company is now moving its UK base from Fairoaks in Surrey to central London "where the majority of our potential customers are based”, she says.

Sommerville also plans to launch a roadshow in the autumn with an EVO demonstrator. "The aircraft will be on display initially at London City Airport but our plan is to take it on tour throughout our dealership territory in the next 12 months,” Sommerville says.

ConnectJets is also poised to appoint a UK service centre to support the seven-seat aircraft within its territory.

The $7.4 million EVO, an upgrade of the Avanti II, was launched in May and is scheduled for certification and service entry in September.
