Business aviation charter and management company Naljets has taken delivery of the first UK-registered Bombardier Challenger 350. The aircraft joins a second super-midsize type – a Gulfstream G200 – and a large cabin Challenger 605 in service with the Newcastle, northern England-headquartered operator.

The twinjet will be supported by fixed-based operator Multiflight from its nearby base at Leeds Bradford airport. “The new Challenger 350 will help the company to meet growing demand from an array of clients, both at home and abroad, chartering aircraft for business and leisure purposes,” says Naljets.

“Last year we received record numbers of charter requests for our aircraft. The addition of the new Challenger expands our capability further and, being the first Challenger 350 registered in the UK, the interest in the aircraft is very strong,” it adds.

Bombardier launched the Challenger 350 in 2013, replacing the industry’s best-selling super-midsize model, the Challenger 300, which entered service in 2004. The $26.5 million aircraft entered service in June last year, with fractional ownership giant NetJets as its launch customer. According to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association Bombardier delivered 51 Challenger 300/350s between January and December 2014.

The Challenger 350 is powered by Honeywell HTF7350 turbofans, each producing 7,323lb (32.6kN) thrust. It has a maximum take-off weight of 40,600lb (18,430kg), while maximum range with eight passengers and two crew is 3,200nm (13,562km) at a long-range speed of Mach 0.8. Inside, the Challenger 350 cockpit has a Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 advanced avionics suite, and the cabin boasts Lufthansa Technik’s nice high-definition cabin management system, contemporary seat design and a new modular galley.
