Indonesia has received the first pair of Airbus Military C295 tactical transports from an order for nine of the aircraft. The handover event took place at the manufacturer's final assembly site at Seville in Spain, Airbus Military said in a statement.
The Indonesian air force will operate the type under the local designation CN295, with Airbus Military saying: "The delivery of the ninth and last aircraft ordered is scheduled for summer 2014."
At February's Singapore air show, Airbus Military announced that it had entered into a deal with PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) to supply the C295s to Indonesia, making it the largest defence deal of the show.

The deal involves a significant amount of industrial participation from Indonesia. PTDI is manufacturing the tail empennage as well as the rear fuselage and fuselage panels. A final assembly line will subsequently be located in Indonesia, with PTDI also to establish a service centre.
Of the remaining aircraft, the next five will be delivered from PTDI, with the final two to be assembled entirely by the company in Indonesia.
The air force's CN295s will perform missions such as military transport, medical evacuation and humanitarian relief.
