Zodiac Aerospace is showcasing a new cabin surveillance system which uses a camera specifically designed to adjust to the changing lighting levels on board an aircraft.

The system is being displayed on Zodiac’s Aircraft Interiors stand as part of its full cabin mock-up, which it uses to show how its various interiors products can be integrated with one another.

“The camera was designed by Zodiac specifically for aircraft to take into account the changing lights in the cabin, for example when a passenger opens or closes a window blind,” says Fatna Malki, business development manager for Zodiac’s Cabin Controls division.

It enables pilots and cabin crew to monitor what is happening in the cabin during flight, which Malki says can be useful both for security purposes and to alert crew members to passengers in need of assistance.
