Japan Airlines (JAL) will equip its domestic fleet with Gogo’s wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) platform, Gogo Vision.
Passengers will be able to stream movies and television shows to their own devices with the service, including original content exclusive to the airline.
"Adding Gogo Vision to our fleet is just another way for us to bring passengers a unique and completely refreshing onboard experience," said Yoshiharu Ueki, JAL's president. "JAL passengers will be able to use the Internet to stay connected and productive and Gogo Vision will help keep them entertained."
JAL plans to launch the new entertainment offering in mid-2014 in addition to Gogo’s Ku-band satellite internet product, which JAL is installing on its Boeing 777, 767 and 737 models as part of a larger project to revamp its domestic cabins.
