Jet Aviation is expanding its completion facility in Basel, Switzerland, in the face of growing demand for its services at the EuroAirport site.
The focus is on the manufacturing operation, where the company produces bespoke furniture, aircraft interior components, and integrated systems for corporate aircraft and VIP airliners.
“The expansion includes establishing an additional 3,700m² (3,820ft²) facility dedicated to finishing and integration activities,” says Jet Aviation, which also plans to invest in new equipment to support the expanded operation. The project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2016.
“The prospect of available and suitable expansion space at Basel was in line with our long-term growth objectives,” says Neil Boyle, senior vice-president of the 50-year-old facility.
He continues: “[This project] allows us to uphold our tradition of executing all elements of a bespoke interior in house, where we are better able to monitor and control the quality of production and craftsmanship.”
