Russian carrier UTair has tentatively ordered 10 Irkut MC-21-300s through a leasing deal with Vneshekonombank.

UTair committed to the developmental narrowbody by signing a letter of intent with the bank's VEB-Leasing arm at MAKS air show in Moscow on 27 August.

The narrowbodies are to be delivered from 2018 until 2020.

A stipulation of the agreement is that - the MC-21 being a clean-sheet design - Irkut must provide quality assurance for the aircraft to certain operational reliability standards for three years from delivery.
