NH Industries has performed the first flight of the initial NH90 helicopter destined for the Belgian armed forces.
To be operated by the nation's Air Component, the tactical transport helicopter (TTH) variant made its maiden sortie on 18 September from Eurocopter's site in Marignane, France.

Belgium has a total of eight NH90s on order: four in the TTH configuration and four in the navalised NFH variant. Two further units are on option, according to Flightglobal's HeliCAS database.
The first Belgian helicopter will be handed over in a full operational capability standard, says NH Industries.
