Kazakhstan has received its first two C295 medium transports from Airbus Military, under the first part of a potentially eight-aircraft acquisition announced early last year.
"Both aircraft will be used in support of transport missions throughout the nation's vast territory," says Airbus Military, which issued an image of the first example before its ferry flight from Seville, Spain, to Almaty, via the Kazakh capital Astana.

The delivery milestone was achieved two months ahead of a schedule detailed last March, when Airbus Military announced its receipt of a contract also covering its provision of spare parts and ground support equipment, plus in-service support activities. A further six of the aircraft are included in options that the airframer says will be "progressively confirmed in the coming years".
