Qatar's Hamad International airport is carrying out a series of advanced passenger trials ahead of its soft opening on 1 April.

More than 1,000 people have already participated in trials at the gateway to test its passenger facilities. A further 2,500 people will undergo trials prior to the launch date, facilitating the transition of flight operations from the current Doha International airport.

Ten airlines will begin operating from Hamad International airport on 1 April, with Qatar Airways scheduled to switch its entire operations to the new hub by the end of the year.
