Images from the scene of a ground accident at Copenhagen indicate that a Scandinavian Airlines Bombardier CRJ900 has sustained serious damage, apparently during a vehicle collision.

The aircraft suffered a collapse of its left-hand main landing-gear on 4 February which, according to the images, appears to have been distorted rearwards into the wing fairing.

Collapse of the gear left the CRJ900’s wing in contact with the ground. The images also show a ground vehicle which seems to have sustained substantial roof damage.

SAS Group could not immediately be reached to confirm the extent of any injuries or the identity of the airframe. Flightglobal’s Ascend consultancy arm indicates that the aircraft involved is a seven-year old jet registered OY-KFC.

Denmark’s air accident investigation authority HCL indicates that it will not be probing the occurrence, because it is classified as a “working accident” and did not take place while the flight was operating.
