US regional carrier SkyWest Inc has reported a 1.6% increase year-on-year in passenger traffic in December.
Capacity for the Utah-based airline fell 0.5% during the month versus December 2011, with the load factor up 1.6 percentage points to 80.1%, it says.
Passenger numbers for the month increased by 5.1% year-on-year to 4.78 million.
On a year-to-date basis, traffic increased 3.4% compared to 2011, while capacity rose 1.6%.
Passenger numbers grew 5.3% to 58.8 million, as the load factor rose 1.4 percentage points to 80.7%.
SkyWest Inc includes Atlantic Southeast Airlines, ExpressJet Airlines and SkyWest Airlines. The carrier operates under capacity purchase agreements for Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines as well as some at risk flying.
