Japan's Tokyo Narita International Airport's passenger numbers for January increased by 6% year on year to 2.71 million.

The airport's domestic passenger numbers rose by 73% to 330,000, while its international passenger numbers grew by 1% to 2.38 million.

Total aircraft movements at the airport increased by 10% to 17,800, while domestic flight movements rose by 59% to 3,560 and international aircraft movements grew by 3% to 14,300.

Total cargo handled at the airport during the month increased by 5% to 142,000t, as loaded cargo volumes decreased by 1% to 61,400t and unloaded cargo volumes increased by 9% to 81,000t.
