POLISH INDUSTRY has formed an aviation consortium to co-ordinate negotiations for an industrial-offset package for the Polish air force's multi-role-fighter requirement.

The consortium, established in August, consists of all seven major airframe and engine manufacturers in Poland - PZL's Hydral, Kalisz, Mielec, Rzeszow, Swidnik, Warszawa-Okecie and Warszawa II - along with two military-overhaul sites (WZL-2 and WZL-4). PZL Swidnik president Mieczyslaw Majewski has been appointed president of the new organisation.

According to PZL-Swidnik, the companies have joined forces to set clear offset conditions on behalf of the Polish industry in the run-up to the selection of an aircraft.

The companies are to agree on their fields of interest in a future workshare package.
