Flight International online news 11:00GMT: Boeing has continued its strategy of appointing well-connected locals as the face of its business in key overseas markets, the latest being Saudi Arabia.

Taking up the new position of president,  Boeing - Saudi Arabia is Ahmed Jazzar, a former vice-president of the technical services division at Arabian Airlines.

Boeing says Jazzar will coordinate all company activities and strategy to pursue growth in the Kingdom. 

The manufacturing giant has also appointed Michael Probasco as president of Boeing Middle East Limited. BMEL is based in Riyadh and represents the company's integrated defence systems unit.

Previously, Probasco has been manager of the Boeing's F-15C distributed mission training programme for the Saudi Air Force.

Boeing says: "The Middle East is an extremely important market for us and Saudi Arabia has been one of Boeing's key customers in the region."
