Airbus Military has awarded Thales contracts to produce the A400M transport’s tactical air navigation and enhanced vision systems (EVS). Imagery from the infrared EVS will be shown on the aircraft’s head-up displays in poor weather conditions and during tactical operations.EADS Defence Electronics will equip 85 of Europe’s A400Ms with its MIRAS infrared missile warning system from 2010. Part of the work will be subcontracted to Turkey’s Aselsan.

Boeing is to provide contractor logistics support for McDonnell Douglas KC-10 and KDC-10 tanker/transports in service with the US Air Force and the Royal Netherlands Air Force until September 2006 under a deal worth over $180 million.

Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems is to produce 32 AAS-52 electro-optic/infrared multispectral targeting system payloads for the Sikorsky MH-60 helicopter and General Atomics Predator unmanned air vehicle under a $31.4 million US Navy contract. The deal includes options for a further 19 systems.

Lockheed Martin has received a $35.4 million contract to provide depot-level maintenance for 23 McDonnell Douglas C-9 transports for the US Air Force and Navy until September 2006.

Ultra Electronics’ Precision Air Systems unit is to produce Hippag pneumatic release systems for the US Air Force’s Boeing Small Diameter Bomb programme under a more than $3 million contract from Sargent Fletcher.

The US Air Force has awarded King Aerospace a $7 million contract to provide logistics support for the service’s two E-9A Widget (Bombardier Dash 8) telemetry relay aircraft at Tyndall AFB, Florida until 30 September 2006.

Sikorsky has received a $5.1 million contract to produce main rotor blades for the US Navy’s H-60 Seahawk transport helicopters until the middle of 2009.

Northrop Grumman has awarded Kalekalip $820,000 to support the Turkish air force’s Boeing 737 airborne early warning and control system aircraft.
