Ed Greenslet proposes a new definition of Benjamin Disraeli's "lies, damned lies and statistics" (as attributed to Disraeli by Mark Twain). "It ought to be lies, damned lies and Airbus and Boeing marketing statistics," says Greenslet. Perhaps he should also recall the words of Sir Winston Churchill when it comes to today's transonic jet age. "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."
