Cessna has rolled out the 100th Citation Excel, representing the fastest production line acceleration in the history of the Citation programme. The Excel, introduced in 1994, was certificated in April 1998 and delivered to the first customer in July 1998. The initial build rate of one aircraft every 25 days has since accelerated to one every three days. The Pratt & Whitney PW545A-powered Excel includes trailing-link landing gear, single point refuelling and cabin comfort based on that of the larger Citation X. The in-service Excel fleet has logged more than 15,000 flight hours.
