Boeing has begun final assembly of the first 777-300ER at its plant in Everett, Washington. The final body join was made on 4 October, and the vertical stabiliser and Goodrich-built main landing gear have also been attached. The aircraft is due to be rolled out next month and make its first flight in early January. Deliveries will start in March 2004. Early customers include Air France and Japan Airlines.
