Surveillance video footage of four of the five hijackers going through security checks at Washington Dulles airport before boarding American Airlines flight AA077, which was intentionally crashed into the Pentagon, was released on 21 July by lawyers representing relatives of people killed in the four 11 September 2001 suicide attacks. Four of the five about to board the 757 were subjected to additional searches but not stopped.
