Airbus is readying the first ultra-long-range A340-500 for flight-testing at its Toulouse plant. The 313-seat, Rolls-Royce Trent 500-powered airliner will begin a 340h test programme next month, which is due to culminate in certification in October. Air Canada is scheduled to take delivery of the first example at the end of the year.
