TRW Aeronautical Systems (Lucas Aerospace) (Hall 2B, Stand H11) has been awarded a contract to supply the cargo system power drive units (PDU) for Airbus Industrie¹s new A340-500/600.

The contract is worth in excess of $50 million over the life of the programme. Having already secured Airbus A340-500/600 contracts for primary and secondary flight controls, thrust-reverser actuation and cargo mechanical systems, TRW has more than $615 million of equipment business on the programme.

The company is also supplying complete engine control systems for the latest derivatives of Rolls-Royce's successful Trent family of engines, which will power the Airbus A340-500/600.
