The French air force is to lease two Airbus A340-200s for between five and nine years under a private finance initiative deal with France’s Ingepar and TAP Portugal. Currently operated by Austrian Airlines, the aircraft will be used from July 2006 and January 2007 respectively to transport military personnel for a total of 1,500-2,000 flight hours a year.
