Airbus has selected ELDEC of Lynnwood, Washington, to provide the landing gear proximity sensing system for the A380. ELDEC supplies all-metal proximity sensors for all Airbus aircraft, and expects to deliver the first A380 equipment later this year. The system consists of proximity sensors, sensor targets, and associated electronics and will monitor the position of the A380 landing gear and associated structure.
