GKN Engage and Airbus UK have announced a strategic partnership to support the design and development of the Airbus A380 wing. The deal is worth more than £10 million to Engage over three years. "The project is a new way of working for us," says Engage chief executive Graham Chisnall. "It's a good example of the long-term partnerships we are developing with customers to meet their needs for engineering resources in all disciplines." GKN Engage engineers will join the existing integrated project team for the wing design, working alongside Airbus engineers at a newly created centre in Avonmouth, UK. Airbus UK will take the management lead initially, but as the programme develops GKN Engage will take on additional responsibilities.
