Airbus North America chairman Jack Schofield has said that he expects a final A3XX decision to be taken by mid-1998, but that "-it may be sooner". He also notes that the $8 billion estimated development cost does not include a production plant, and that "-nothing is etched in stone" about where the A3XX will be assembled.
