Cessna has clinched an order from lifestyle, finance and industrial company Reignwood Group for 10 float-equipped Grand Caravan EXs.
The single-engined turboprops will be operated by Reignwood's business aviation subsidiary Reignwood Star Aviation, and used for tourism flights in southeast China.
The Grand Caravan EXs will be manufactured at Shijiazhuang in northern China's Hebei province, through Cessna's joint venture partnership with AVIC.
“The Grand Caravan EX is incredibly durable and versatile – exactly what Reignwood was looking for to fit the types of missions they are planning,” says Bill Harris, Cessna's vice-president, sales, Asia and Asia-Pacific.
The Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-140-powered Grand Caravan EX was introduced by Cessna in 2012, as an upgraded version of the then 18-year-old design. Earlier this month, the Textron Aviation subsidiary marked the 100th delivery of the type to a Middle Eastern owner.
