Falcon Aviation Services wants to 'widen appeal' of helicopter transport in emirate
Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) has launched a business jet and helicopter charter operation in Abu Dhabi in response to a limited choice of aircraft types in the country and a quest to widen the appeal of business and helicopter transport throughout the emirate.
FAS has eight helicopters - two AgustaWestland A109 Powers for VIP transport and air taxi charters, a Eurocopter EC135 and an EC130 for aerial work and tourism. Two Bell 412 and two AW139s will be dedicated to search and rescue operations for the United Arab Emirates armed forces, it says.
FAS is to take delivery next June of a third A109 Power and in 2008 will receive the country's first commercially operated Gulfstream G450 business jet, which it says will "cover the popular Abu Dhabi to London and Singapore routes".
"We are trying to change people's perceptions of business aviation in Abu Dhabi," says FAS general manager Philip Markham. "Royal Jet has done a good job of getting people into the luxury end, but we are hoping to open up this form of transport by making it convenient, accessible and more affordable."
