Abu Dhabi-based Adcom (W902) is showing Garmin's new GPSMAP 295 for the aviation market, first deliveries of which should take place within a few weeks. The unit features a 16-colour display and many improvements over its predecessor, including the ability to load specific city data from a Garmin MapSource CD.

It is so small that users can take the unit out of their plane or helicopter, put it in their car and navigate to work. The GPSMAP 295 is user-configurable and has a split screen option so that owners can keep one eye on an HIS graphic while watching their progress on a moving map.

Its built-in Jeppesen database includes worldwide airports and VORs, plus other aeronautical information including NDBs, special use and controlled airspace.
