L-3 Link Simulation & Training has launched production of its Advanced Helmet-Mounted Display (AHMD) for simulator visual systems. Attached to the user's own helmet, the full-colour display provides a 100¡ x 50¡ instantaneous field of view with a resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 pixels per eye and a see-through capability greater than 60%. Initial applications will include reconfigurable helicopter simulators for the US Army's Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer and Flight School XXI.
