Aermacchi has signed two new teaming agreements intended to strengthen its efforts to sell a projected 120 M311 basic jet trainers to the militaries of Singapore, Turkey and the UK. Partnerships have been established with Qantas Defence Services of Australia to support Aermacchi’s campaign in Singapore, while the company has signed an agreement with Turkish Aerospace Industries to promote the developmental aircraft.
Companies bidding to meet the Singapore requirement will provide responses to a request for proposals by mid-August, with the Embraer EMB-314 Super Tucano, Pilatus PC-21 and Raytheon T-6 Texan II also contesting the 20-aircraft requirement.
