The long-awaited deal for Hindustan Aeronautics to licence-build ATR 42 turboprop aircraft in India failed to materialise at the show, though the Franco-Italian consortium says it remains hopeful that Indian Airlines will shortly conclude a substantial order for the type. The purchase is a pre-requisite for the signing of the production contract.
