India's National Aerospace Laboratories says it is close to achieving its aim of stripping 500kg (1,100lb) of weight from its 14-seat Saras utility aircraft. The revised version will feature a carbonfibre wing and redesigned fuselage. Long-delayed certification of the pusher-prop transport is scheduled for late 2010. The two existing prototypes have completed 200h of flight tests.
