Russian flag carrier Aeroflot has this month added three new Airbus A320s under operating lease agreements.
One aircraft was leased from SMBC Aviation Capital and another from ICBC Leasing. The third aircraft (MSN 5974) was delivered on 17 February from AWAS.
In January, Aeroflot had leased a new A320 from ICBC Leasing.
The Russian carrier plans to take delivery of four additional A320s from ICBC Leasing this year, as well as two more aircraft from AWAS. One delivery will also be provided by SMBC Aviation Capital.
European leasing company Aerospace International Group is also placing four new A320 deliveries with Aeroflot this year as part of its order for 14 A320-family aircraft: 10 A320s and four A321s.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows that the 14 aircraft will be leased to Aeroflot.
Last year, Aeroflot said it was looking to acquire another 35 Airbus A320s as part of a broader fleet-renewal exercise over the course of 2016-18.
