Russian flag carrier Aeroflot is to acquire 18 Airbus A319s and A320s as its restructures its short-haul fleet. It has signed a deal with Airbus for eight aircraft, with another four being ordered by GECAS on Aeroflot's behalf. GECAS will lease another eight to Aeroflot directly. The first CFM56-powered aircraft will be delivered in autumn 2003.
