Russian carrier Yakutia has ordered two Sukhoi Superjet 100s from Finance Leasing and the Yakutsk-based airline expects its first delivery of the 95-seat twinjet in February 2011. The number of firm orders for the Superjet 100 remains at 122.
Yakutia operates a mixed fleet that includes Boeing 757-200s and 737-700s, plus Tupolev Tu-154Ms and Antonov turboprops - including An-140s. Director general Ivan Prostit says: "The Superjet 100 will help us provide our passengers with added comfort on board, offer safer flights, expand our route networks and make the current flights more regular."
Separately, Russian flag carrier Aeroflot has, as expected, signed a financial lease contract with Vnesheconombank covering its first 10 Sukhoi Superjet 100s. The agreement, signed at the MAKS Moscow air show, covers the lease of the Superjets for 12 years, and has been agreed in the framework of Aeroflot's acquisition of 30 of the twinjets.
