Vnesheconombank (VEB), Russia's State Corporation Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs, is setting up a leasing platform with a view to acquire SuperJet aircraft.
The bank is close to announce a sale and leaseback transaction with Aeroflot Russia Airlines for a total of 10 Sukhoi Superjet 100s.
VEB plans to earmark $250 million to its subsidiary VEB-Leasing to buy 10 SuperJet aircraft and lease them back to Aeroflot Russia Airlines, according to VEB CEO Vladimir Dmitriyev.
